Roger's Fight Almost Over

Roger has taken a turn and we were not able to keep his extreme pain under control at home yesterday so we were advised to go to the Hospice care center in Louisville on Monday....He is now resting much more comfortably with a continuous pain pump and he is in and out of consciousness.
I will try to keep you all updated as much as possible, but my time will be spent with him and making sure that he is comfortable and loved.
I am taking him back to our house and hospice said if that is his wish then "so be it" and I want that also....He will go by ambulance and we will make him comfortable at home.
He really is not accepting any company now. Roger's son and brother will be coming sooner than they had planned...as we just don't know for sure how many weeks or days he has here with all of us.
God bless the days we have with him.... God bless the days we had with him ..... God bless him
Love Dianne

  1. Mom,

If Roger is no longer able to read this please read this to him for me. I know there is not much for me to say to ease the pain but I want you to know this. I want you to know that mom will be well taken care of by me and my family. I want to thank you Roger for the stepfather I knew you could become. I also want you to understand that it is okay to go on. You will be partying and drinking beer as well as playing golf at Augusta with all your pals daily. You will have as many cars and trucks as you want.
I will always remember the times when someone would pull in the drive way and you would come out and wash their wheels and tires and make the tires look blacker than when they were brand new. I will always remember when we had our issues on the golf course in our 2 man team tournaments at fox hill and twin peaks. It was a blast playing golf with you! You also developed into a pretty good sand bagger as well! I want you to do something for me. When you decide to move on, I want you to tell all our friends and family that have left us, hi for me. I know they are all preparing a life for us when it is our turn to go. I know that they will have one Kick Ass of a party waiting for you from what I have heard in the past. Too much to mention and probably not the most appropriate thing to say via a blog post. Just use your imagination! I want you to know that there is a painless peace when God decides it's time for you to further develop your life.
I will always remember the times we had drinking together. Laughing our butt's off at the drunk people doing stupid drunken things. I won't ever forget the time you got too drunk at your wedding reception and we had to carry you from the car in the garage to inside the house upstairs. It's hard carrying someone when your drunk yourself LOL! I vividly remember the next morning that you fed my wife to much champagne from the night before as well. I turned over in bed and put my face in a huge pile of puke! Tina puked in her sleep and didn't even know it. Nothing worse than being hung over in the morning and putting your face in a puke pile! LOL I will always remember all the good times, To many to list though.
I want you to know that you will NOT be forgotten! I did not make the big break this season but I vow to make it on the next one! I want you to prepare the script with my dad and Schey for the next one please.
So all in all, thank you for being there and for everything you have done for me and my family. I really appreciate it even if I don't show it at times.

    Love you,
    your number 1 stepson "Chappy"
P.S. Mom still doesn't know how to work the remote control for the fireplace. It only has an on and off button. I will make sure she gets the necessary training. LOL!!!
